Bonneville Salt Flats Wedding

I am OBSESSED with this romantic Bonneville Salt Flats wedding! It could not have come together more perfectly! As a traveling wedding photography husband and wife team, Andrew and I drove out to Utah as part of a month-long road trip with our two pups. During our trip we set up an editorial wedding shoot at the Bonneville Salt Flats and had the pleasure of photographing these two newlyweds as our models!

A couple tips for anyone interested in getting married at the Salt Flats:

If you want those beautiful mountains in the background, definitely go at sunset! The mountains are in the west so in order to get shots with the sun setting behind the mountains the evening will be the best time of day!
Speaking of the sunset, the sun will disappear earlier than the actual sunset time because of the mountains there. So make sure to schedule your ceremony and portraits early enough that you’ll be able to get photos before the light is gone! Bonus tip: I always make a timeline for my couples to optimize our time for photos during golden hour! It’s always best to ask your photographer when you should start your ceremony!
Don’t stress about decorations. The location is already sooooo beautiful, so you don’t need much (or anything, really!)!
